While Broadway in SoHo is teeming with shoppers flocking to retail chains like Uniqlo and H&M, just a block east, things are calmer on cobblestoned Crosby Street. The five-block roadway running between Houston and Howard streets has quietly evolved into a men’s retail destination, but unlike the rest of the neighborhood, the stores are small and niche. Crosby Street is targeting a younger, hipper clientele than Madison Avenue’s “men’s mile,” the portion of the avenue in the 40s known for its cluster of menswear stores like Brooks Brothers and Charles Tyrwhitt.
